Every year hundreds of anonymous buildings are built in the world. Fortunately, there are a couple of them that draws our attention and induce us to look at them again. We will be discussing on some unique masterpieces of contemporary architecture.
Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital:
Brisbane architect Conrad Gargett in association with Melbourne architectural and urban design practice Lyons in association completed the architecture of this building. Opened in 2014 in South Brisbane, Australia’s Queensland region, the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital takes the look of the passers-by thanks to its façade decorated with vertical elements of green color and its square look.
Singapore Interlace Building:
Designed by architects OMA and Ole Scheeren, the Interlace Building is a 1000-unit apartment building complex in Singapore. The building has won the first prize at the World Architecture Festival in 2015 and was crowned World Building of the Year. These square-shaped hexagonal buildings are intertwined with each other in a intricate way.
San Mames Stadium:
Built by the architect César A. Azcárate Gómezm, the San Memes Stadium stands in the top of architectural landmarks in the Biscayan capital. The buiprize awarded by the World Architecture Festival held in Singapore in 2015. The building received the best sports building in the world award by the World Architecture Festival in 2015.
Microsoft Office in Danish:
Yet another contemrorary building, is Microsoft’s new Danish office in Copenhagen. Inaugurated in early 2016, the interior of the building houses a series of shared working environments, meeting rooms with transparent walls and plenty of spaces where the mind is free to wander.
Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies:
Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies built by the architect Mangera Yvars Architects, is a real jewel of modern architecture that literally stands out to the sky. The project was proposed to develop a progressive learning environment for students.
